Chat & Sign Colors

Colored chat, colored signs, and the physics notice.

Permission Nodes

Chat Formatting Colors

Enables formatting text in chat messages using standard color codes (e.g. &a, &l) or hex color codes (RGB).

  • Permission: buildsystem.color.chat

  • Default: OP

Sign Formatting Colors

Enables formatting text on signs using color codes or hex RGB formatting.

  • Permission: buildsystem.color.sign

  • Default: OP

Physics Change Alerts

Controls whether a player receives a chat notification when entering a world that has block physics disabled.

  • Permission: buildsystem.physics.message

  • Default: TRUE (granted to all players)

Supported Color Formats

The chat and sign nodes above unlock the same set of formats. Anything a player types that they lack the permission for is stripped rather than sent through.

&aGreen, &lBold

Hex

#RRGGBB

#ff8800Orange

Hex, braced

{#RRGGBB}

{#ff8800}Orange

Hex, Spigot form

&x&R&R&G&G&B&B

&x&f&f&8&8&0&0Orange

Solid

<SOLID:RRGGBB> or #{RRGGBB}

<SOLID:ff8800>Orange

Gradient

<GRADIENT:RRGGBB>text</GRADIENT:RRGGBB>

<GRADIENT:ff0000>Sunset</GRADIENT:0000ff>

Rainbow

<RAINBOW{saturation}>text</RAINBOW>

<RAINBOW80>Colorful</RAINBOW>

Gradient and rainbow interpolate across the enclosed text, so they need both an opening and a closing tag. The rainbow saturation is a number from 1 to 100.

These formats are also accepted anywhere messages.yml takes text, independently of these permissions -- the nodes govern what players may type, not what you may configure.
